We all know headphones can get pretty pricey. The great thing however is there are lot of really cheap options out there for us that may not want to pay a great amount for headphones. There are many exceptional headphones at $50 or under. Now don’t get me wrong, you won’t find any Bose Qc35’s on here but there are some pretty great headphones on this list for the price. So save yourself a little bit of money and give one of these models a shot.
1. Best for Noise Canceling: Sony MDRZX110NC
If you want to have you want the noise canceling experience but don’t have the budget or the higher end noise canceling headphones, the Sony MDRZX110NC’s are a good option for you. They do a descent job at preventing unwanted outside noise and makes the listening experience enjoyable. They also feature Supra-Aural technology and have 30mm drivers. This provides you with pretty good dynamics and a clear tone.
2. Best for Runners: Skullcandy – Smokin’ Buds 2 Wireless In-Ear Headphones
The Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds 2 are a great wireless in ear option for runners or those that work out. These are comfortable and have a behind the neck design. They are a bluetooth headphone with built in remote to control music playback. They Smoking Buds 2 have a built in microphone for phone calls as well. The flex collar is removable and is customizable. Like most bluetooth headphones these days the pairing is very easy and can work with multiple bluetooth capable devices. You also get a carrying case with these and they are sound isolating, which is a big plus for me. These are definitely a good choice for active people.
3. Best Wireless on Ears: Skullcandy – Uproar Wireless On-Ear Headphones
Wireless is becoming the norm for many headphones. All the major headphone brands have at least one line of bluetooth/wireless headphones. The Uproars are a great on ear option and have very comfortable, pillow like pads. They are equipped with 40mm drivers and deliver a powerful sound via their neodymium magnets. The battery life is around 10 hours and has a built in lithium ion battery. Overall these headphones have a lot of good things about them for under $50.
4. Apple – EarPods™ with Remote and Mic
I know, I know. Some of you are thinking why would I include the Apple EarPods on this list. Well to be honest they are pretty great earbuds. The Apple EarPods are water and sweat resistent and features a great mic. The sound quality for the mic is very clear and cuts out external noise. They also are equipped with a remote for music and phone controlling. They deliver high quality audio with rich bass for an earbud. While these are wired they are well made for active users. They are definitely worth a shot.
5. Jam – Transit Wireless On-Ear Headphones
The Jam Transit HX-HP420’s are a great bluetooth option for you wireless fans. It has a range of 30′ which is impressive for a headphone under $50. The rechargeable batter allows up to 11 hours of music playback. They also have very comfortable cushions that allow hours of listening. And as the name would hint these really do ‘Jam’ the bass is great on these but also has clear treble.
6. Skullcandy – INK’D Wireless In-Ear Headphones
While I do feel Skullcandy’s Smokin Buds 2 are the better option, the Ink’d wireless are great behind the neck headphones. They are equipped with very soft silicon ear gels that make long listening possible. The rechargeable battery allows up to 7 hours of music playback. The in ear design does a descent job with noise isolation and the in-line microphone allows easy hands-free calling. The flat design for the band lays flat on the neck and is ideal for bike riders or helmet wearers. They are equipped with 10mm drivers and deliver a powerful sound for the price.
